At Mist Audio, we specialize in creating timeless furniture designed specifically for vinyl record collectors and audio enthusiasts. We believe that HiFi furniture is part of your listening experience, enhancing both the aesthetic of your setup, and the mindful process of sitting down, choosing a record and appreciating the moment.

Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our choice of materials; we hand select quality timber from sustainable forests, as well as use 100% plastic free packaging for our range of timber products.

Founded by Matt Preston, a Product & Furniture Design graduate from Northumbria University, Mist Audio is driven by his passion for music, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design.

Our work embodies the Japanese concept of ‘Ikigai’—finding joy in the harmonious intersection of what we love, what we are skilled at, what the world needs, and what can support us financially. Based in the vibrant Ouseburn area of Newcastle upon Tyne, our workshop blends traditional craftsmanship with modern design. 

Company overview

Mist Audio, in operation since 2017 and formerly known
as TheCopperWorks, has established a strong presence in the HiFi/vinyl record
storage market. Our workshop, located in the vibrant Ouseburn area of Newcastle
upon Tyne, has crafted over 5,000 bespoke items for audio enthusiasts around
the world.

Recently rebranded to better reflect our core values, Mist Audio is dedicated to enhancing the music listening experience for vinyl
record collectors and audio enthusiasts. Our furniture designs aim to not only
improve the aesthetic and functionality of audio setups, but also help foster a
more immersive musical experience as the furniture becomes part of the pleasure.

We continue to uphold our commitment to sustainability,
evident in our use of ethically sourced hardwoods and 100% plastic-free
packaging. These practices ensure that our operations leave only a minimal
environmental footprint.
